Ray Graham and I worked in Valdosta to togather at S.G.M.C.in the late 70's and the early 80's What a great partner and person. Man did we stay in trouble. He would alway say this is how we did it in Macon at the Med. Ctr.

We are so sorry for your family's loss. In reading these tributes, Ray left a wonderful legacy of caring and joyful exchanges with those that had the good fortune of meeting him either personally or medically. He certainly touched many, many lives.

Some of my best memories of EMS was when Ray ("Billy Bob") and I worked together in the early 1980's. We worked the 7p-7a shift together and he was always up to some kind of mischief, and of course never left me out of the fun. And we saved a life or three along the way as well. When the going got tough, I knew he could handle his share of the work, always had my back covered, and was full of good advice. He was a great medic, a great nurse, a great friend, and a great person. I will certainly miss him.

Gloria, Jennifer and Johnathon, I am terribly sorry for your loss. I have known Ray for almost 20 years. I have worked with him in several hospitals. I am sorry I didnt know about the date and time of the funeral and visitation or I would surely have been there. He loved you all deeply. He will be missed. I hope he and my son are both in heaven fishing together! They would make a great team!

Gloria,
I first met you and Billy Bob many, many years ago at SGMC before you were married. I enjoyed watching Ray grow in his professional career. I described him as a "Big Teddy Bear". Ray had this way about him with other people, always positive, smiling and told the best stories. I used to tell him he needed to write a book. Years have passed and taken us through different roads but I was able to talk to him a few months ago during a transfer we were sending; he was the transfer nurse. He remembered me immediately and once he told me his full name, I instantly called him, "Billy Bob" and we did take a few minutes to catch up. That was a nice, bright spot on that shift that day. My thoughts and prayers are with you now. He will be greatly missed. But the friendship and love he bestowed upon all of us will now come back to you tenfold.
God Bless!!!

I came to know "Billy Bob" in 1984 while in the E.M.T. program.I also had the pleasure of running a few calls with him.He loved life and made everyone around him laugh.Ray had a way with folks that allowed him to get in "close and personal"and that made him one of the best instructors,medics,R.N.'s and individuals to be around ! Our loss but Gods gain!

Dear family,
Oh my goodness. I was shocked and saddened to read of Ray's passing. I first met Ray almost 40 yrs ago at Perry Hospital. He taught me how to start my first IV, then later I worked with him in the ER at MCCG. He was a gentle giant, a wonderful paramedic, teacher, nurse and friend. He touched and saved more lives than he ever knew and will be missed. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Susie, Craig. Ray's family, Gloria, her children and all other precious loved ones of Ray's: we speak with absolute truth and profound love when we say that you are supremely important to us as Ray was. We earnestly stand in the shadow of sorrow with you. You are our family and precious to us.

At Gettysburg, Lincoln mentioned "the poor power of words" that can't convey to you the measurement of our love and concern for you all.

I worked with Ray many years ago at South Georgia medical Center. He was a good EMT and also had a great sense of humor. I was sorry to hear of his death. Karen Schuster
