Tom Surratt, 75, entered into rest on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Hospice of Central Georgia.
Tom was born on September 4, 1936 to the late J.D. and Lettie Surratt of Spencer, North Carolina. He graduated from Boyden High in 1954 and from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in 1958, and went to serve in the Air Force for four years where he spoke Russian. Tom worked in California for most of his life where he was a Marketing Manager for Kaiser Gypsum, Domtar Gypsum, and Georgia Pacific (same company, buy outs). He later retired in 1996 and relocated to Georgia.
He is survived by his brother Steve Surratt (Connie), Warner Robins; three nieces; and two great-nieces and six nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Friendship Baptist Church with Reverend Paul Cowles officiating.The family will accept donations to the building fund of Friendship Baptist Church, 1322 Feagin Mill Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
