Sudie Lott, 86, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012 under the loving care of her family and the Heart of Georgia Hospice at Perry Hospital.

Mrs. Lott was born on July 15, 1925 in Purvis, MS to Willis Roscoe Collum and Marie Sasser Patterson Collum. Sudie was a housewife and a substitute teacher in the 1970's at Southwest High School. She sold World Book Encyclopedias, was a master at refunding, and was very skilled in canning vegetables from her husband's garden. She was well known for her oatmeal cookies, carrot cakes and lemon icebox pies. Sudie was of Methodist faith and is a former member of Cherokee Heights United Methodist Church in Macon, GA, Cullman First United Methodist in Cullman, AL, and the First United Methodist Church in Lakeland, FL. She was a 1943 graduate of Hanceville High School in Hanceville, AL and a 1953 graduate of Florence State College in Florence, AL. At Florence State, she received a BS in Business Education. She was House Chairman of WSGA (Women's Self- Government Association), a member of Sigma Tau Pi (organization for Business Education); President, of Kappa Delta Pi (Education Honor Society); and Vice President of YWCA. Sudie was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Catherine Collum Stabler and Helen Collum Lewis

Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband of fifty seven years, James D. (Jim/JD) Lott; children Dianne Lott Lamb (Tommy) of Kathleen, GA, Kathy Lott Esser (Rick) of Panama City, FL, and Keith Daniel Lott (Gwen) of Henagar, AL; grandchildren Brian Cadotte (Jessica) of Norman, OK, Tiffany Fate of Valdosta, GA, Kelly Cadotte Nobles (Joshua) of Warner Robins, GA, Kyla Lott of Henagar, AL; great grandson Joshua "Brennan" Nobles of Warner Robins, GA; sister Vera Collum Hammer (Fred) of Albertville, AL, and many other relatives.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at McCullough Funeral Home with Funeral Services immediately following at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Andersonville National Cemetery. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Sudie to The Methodist Home for Children and Youth, PO Box 2525, Macon, GA 31203-2525.
