Sallie V. Stewart, 93, entered into rest on Friday, June 15, 2012.
Sallie was born on January 11, 1919 in Macon, Georgia. Having lived in Middle Georgia for most of her life, she retired from Robins Air Force Base after twenty-five years as an Accounting Clerk. Sallie was once a very active member of Lawrence Drive Baptist Church, and she devoted much of her time to several organizations including: the Rebeccas, the Armiz, and the White Shrine. Her loving husband, Ed Stewart; and her parents, Wyatt Leo Rape and Lula Aultman Rape, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her sister, Sandra Willoughby (Jay), Grovetown, Georgia; two beloved nephews, Edwin "Keith" Fortson (Staci) and Allen Paul Fortson (Tammy); and a number of great-nephews, great-nieces, and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, June 18, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Lawrence Drive Baptist Church with interment following in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will accept flowers or donations may be given to Lawrence Drive Baptist Church, 5774 School Road, Macon, GA 31216.
