Jerlene A. Howell-Key, 75, entered into rest on Thursday, April 12, 2012.
Mrs. Howell-Key was born on January 8, 1937 in Cadwell, Georgia. She retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base after thirty-nine years, eleven months, and five days of service, and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star – Martha Berry Chapter #351 and of the Elect Ladies and Charity Patrons Club. Mrs. Howell-Key was of the Baptist Faith and will always be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her first husband of twenty-nine years, Hugh L. Howell, Sr.; her second husband, Wayne J. Key, Sr.; and her parents, Robert and Corene Akridge, preceded her in death.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her son, Hugh Lanier Howell, Jr. (Debbie), Kathleen; daughters, Cheryl Aldridge Snow (Sam), Lawrenceville, Georgia, and Cynthia Nicole Howell and Lisa Hughes, both of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Jason Lanier Howell, Nicholas Brooks Howell, Justin Kyle Aldridge, Anna Marie Johnson, Kourtney Howell Reed, Billy Edward Hughes, and Glenn Gary Hughes; eight great-grandchildren; and her caregiver, Amanda Spell.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2012 in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery. The family will accept flowers, or memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201 or to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
